ooof...I'd break my neck for sure.

I'm going to stick with the Star Trek theme and say I want my very own personal holodeck. I could have an exercises program like Worf's in "Where Silence has Lease," have shoot-out in the Old West like "A Fistfull of Datas," sail a 18th Century Brig like in "Generations," and make my own programs to kayak wherever there is…

@Jimmy Seddon It's not the real thing, but it's a start.

...Until it gets blown up to make room for an intergalactic highway. (And don't for get your towel.)

Nope, not me. I'd end up like Jeff Goldbloom in "The Fly."

Hi Eric, I can't tell from your screen shots whether your default permission scheme is associated with the new project or not; my guess is that it is not. If you click the "assistance autorisation" button for the permission helper, select your user ID, the issue you created in the project, and the "browse projects"…
-
Sorry about that..here are the images.

Here are a couple of screen captures to help. The issue key will start with the project key, followed by a number. So, in the example shown I am in the PMTEST project, on issue PMTEST-34 and the Epic in the Epic Link field is one of the epics within that project. To change it I type in the key for another project, PMTEST2,…

Yes, I use a filter on the Teams field, which is part of Portfolio. If you don't use Portfolio you can use a Label to identify the development and non-development work.

I’m heartbroken today. I have been listening to Rush all day at work, and this post brought up some happy memories from my teenage years. I had Caress of Steel on al the way home. It wasn’t until I got home and turned on the news that I heard that Neal Pearl had passed away. He was a brilliant writer and lyricist, pulled…

Hi @Andrew Duplyakin , The location of the navigation pane is static, you cannot move it to the top. However, Atlassian is working improvements to it, you can read more about them here. There is also a link in there to a Chrome Extension you can add to test it out. -Scott

The closer scientists get to the Singularity the closer you get to having some real research material to get you started! https://www.wsj.com/articles/scientists-experiment-with-reworking-memory-in-mice-1409158818

I love reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, and I am a huge fan of Rush. So... When I was in college back in the early '90s I started writing a book loosely based on the lyrics from part one of "The Necromancer" from Caress of Steel." Here are the lyrics: As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travelers, men…

Either that or have a separate Scrum board for the development team, especially if your project has stories that are done outside the boundaries of a sprint. Personally, I set up my projects with three boards; one Kanban for non-development tasks, one Scrum for the stuff that is done by the Scrum team, and one Kanban that…

This: 1. Play with it. Install your own local instance, Get comfortable with how it expects to be used. Find all those odd features. If you break it, throw that one away and start again. It is exactly how I learned Jira, and it was the subject of the first article I wrote for the Community. When I'm working with people…

Hi @Ben Blomerley , The burndown (and Jira in general) will only recognize the status(es) that are in the right-most column of the board as "Done." It may be as easy as adding the "UAT" status in the right-most column of the board (under Board Settings, Column.) Let me know if that works, if not I'll dig a bit more. -Scott

Hi @sc , Epics can cross projects without any special configurations, you just need to have access to view/edit issues in both projects. If you are not seeing your P2 epics in the Epic Link field in P1 then I suspect there is a security setting preventing you from editing or viewing the issues in P2. If you do have access…
-
Hi @jo astley , On a side note...You may want to consider just deactivating the user when they leave and not deleting them. Inactive users do not affect your licensing costs, and one never knows when something may come up that required an admin to access their data. -Scott

Hi @Trevor Miller , There currently is not a way to add a calculated custom field to the search results grid. There are a number of requests for custom calculated fields, but nothing in the works that I could find. There is also a request specifically for Epics; you can review and vote for the suggestion…

The gadget is based on the "estimation basis" you have set up in the board. Once you add the Remaining Story Points field you will want to also create a board to use that field for estimates. Here is some documentation on how to change the estimation basis to a custom field:…
-
Hi @Nilay Sinha , You are correct, the velocity chart will show "0" at the end of the sprint because there are no story points left in the completed sprint; they've all been removed. I Jira this means that all of the work done in the sprint amounts to 0 points. Instead of setting the story points to 0 when the story is…

Hi @xil355 , as far as I can tell Confluence does not do this. Perhaps a marketpalce app like Piwik PRO or Page Views will help? -Scott

-Biometric devices will become more common. Being able to more easily track our health, and a more secure form of cyber security I'm looking forward to the day I can get my first cybernetic implant, maybe a pair of Tleilaxu eyes. Probably not in this decade though.

My aunt knew that I loved to read as a kid; between the age of 10 and 17 I could almost always be found with a book in my hand and during family events my mom would have to tell me to "put that book away and be social" fairly often. So, when I was 14 she gave me a box set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.…

@Donata , the others that have posted are right...you can use permissions to prevent people from adding issues to a sprint. To clarify my answer...if people can add to a sprint then they can throughout the sprint; there isn’t a way to allow issues to be added until a point where the sprint gets “locked” and no more issues…
-
There isn’t any way to prevent it through software, this sounds like it needs a human process fix; perhaps you can put a standard naming convention in place for epics? If the name starts with the project key it may help people identify the correct epic.
-
Correct. For this you would need to use an add-on like Portfolio, Big Picture, Structure, etc. to create a Program and then assign the sub-orgs to it.
-
Hi @Thomas Retif , The easiest way to do this without using an add-on application is to first create a "project template" with all of the fields, issue types, permissions, screens, workflows, etc. that will be common to the model. Next, create the standard set of issues needed in your project template. When all the issues…

Hi @SR What type of attribute are you looking for? There is a way to set up "project categories" in the detailed settings of a project, but there is no way I'm aware of to add a custom attribute to your project outside of the existing fields. -Scott
-
Hi @Donata , There is no way to "lock" the scope of a sprint, whether or not the sprint has been started. There was an open request to add this feature, but Atlassian recently decided not to pursue it. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-3484 -Scott
