My team and I have been unable to add cards to Trello since Saturday. However the system says there are no issues? How can I troubleshoot this?
Hi @Yair katz ,
Checked the Trello status page just now, no incidents since mid October, so this isn't an outage. Whole team, same day, no error from Trello: that pattern is almost always the Workspace, not the app.
Two things to check, in order:
If it's neither, tell us what actually happens when you add a card: nothing, an error, the card appears then disappears? And is it one board or all of them? One board only could be the 5000 open-card limit, which blocks new cards until you archive some.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Yair katz
When you try to add a card, what happens? Is the button missing, or does the card disappear after you save? It may also help to confirm that you're a board member and that your Workspace isn’t read-only because of the Free plan collaborator limit.

Does this happen on every board or only one?

When a card is added, it appears as if it is added. But then when you exit and reopen the application, the new card isn't there.
Thanks @Yair katz , that helps.
Searched for that exact symptom. No Trello incident or known bug since Saturday, but a few things other users hit this year match it. Which one applies depends on where you're adding the card, so first: desktop app, iOS, Android, or browser?
Before anything else, a quick one on the board itself. If the Filter button at the top is highlighted, Clear all. Since mid-2026 a new card that doesn't match an active filter disappears the moment it's saved, and the filter survives closing the app (thread). Also check the board's automation: a rule that moves or archives cards on add produces exactly this.
If it's the phone app: open the Account tab and look at the Sync Queue, and for circular arrows on boards and cards. That's where unsent cards sit when the app can't reach Trello. Don't clear cache, log out or reinstall before that, the official iOS and Android pages warn those steps delete unsent changes. Export the queue with the Share button first. There's also an open bug, TRELLO-1075, where iOS offline edits vanish even though the queue looks empty.
If it's the desktop app or browser: are you typing the title and clicking away? Since a few months that no longer saves the card, you have to press Enter or Ctrl/Cmd+Enter (thread). For the desktop app the official steps are Help menu > Reset local data, then reinstall, then check antivirus/VPN/proxy (page).
Whatever you're on, try once in a browser at trello.com and tell us if the card survives there. And did anyone change board members, plan or settings on Saturday?
