Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with the new Project Reports feature in Jira Cloud and would like to know whether this is expected behavior, a limitation, or a bug.
Environment
- Jira Cloud
- Company-managed Software project
- New Project Reports experience (Spaces)
Custom Field
- Quarter
- Type: Select List (multiple choices)
Expected Behaviour
I have 78 Epics where:
<span>Quarter = Q1 FY83/84</span>
The following all correctly return 78 work items:
Example:
<span>project = RM
AND "Quarter" = "Q1 FY83/84"</span>
Actual Behaviour
When I add Quarter as a Dashboard Filter on the Project Reports page and select Q1 FY83/84, the reports only display 39 work items.
Every widget uses the same count (39), including:
- Count of work items by status
- Tasks by Project Type
- Planned vs Added Later
Additional Testing
To isolate the issue, I created 5 brand-new Epics with:
- Quarter = Q3 FY83/84
- Status = To Do
- Required planning fields populated
The List view and JQL correctly return all 5 issues.
However, when I apply Quarter = Q3 FY83/84 in Project Reports, every widget shows 0 work items.
As another test, I removed the Quarter filter and replaced it with the native Work Item Status filter. The reports worked correctly and displayed the expected counts.
Additional Information
- This setup was working approximately one week ago.
- No board filters are restricting the project (
project = RM). - The issue only occurs when using the custom Select List (multiple choices) field as a report filter.
Questions
- Are custom multi-select fields officially supported as Dashboard Filters in the new Project Reports?
- Has anyone experienced similar behaviour after recent Jira Cloud updates?
- Is there any indexing or analytics refresh required for Project Reports to recognize newly created work items using custom fields?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
