Only be notified when JIRA is assigned

Is there a way to disable ALL JIRA emails except emails notifying users that they have just had a task assigned to them?

All of our users constantly have JIRA open so don't really need to be constantly emailed (they end up in a folder that never gets opened, so they are never aware that something has been assigned.)

The JIRA admin can simply remove all the notifications except the being assigned one.

Change the notification scheme for the project so that it only mails people on "issue assigned"

Hi,

You can change notification scheme for project as per your requirement. Remove all other access except issue created for which you can add current assignee,reporter,watchers etc

Note: You should have admin rights
