does anyone know if there are add on where we can open an excel file that is in jira in the attachment folder and make edits and save without having to save to the desktop and drag into jira and then delete the old one?
I'm not aware of any solutions for this in Jira Cloud (like this one for Server), but this definitely possible in Confluence (see here if you want to explore a solution using Confluence instead).
You might also find some helpful hints in this older answer, as well.
Maybe you can take a look at smart attachement addon
what is this add on called? When searching for smart attachment I didn't get anything except google to jira..
