Sourcetree cannot push to Bitbucket: invalid username or password

Hi! Since about 4 weeks, I can't push anything to my Bitbucket repos. I've tried to delete the credentials from Sourcetree options, tried delete the credentials from the Windows' control panel, tried to create an app password, tried to reset the password of my Atlassian ID, tried to upgrade GIT, tried to downgrade Sourcetree (from the actual 2.6.10 to the old 2.5.5 version). Nothing changes: form within the option dialog of sourcetree, the program can validate my credentials... ...but, when I try to commit or push to bitbucket, I always receive the Invalid username or password message: fatal: HttpRequestException encountered remote: Invalid username or password fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://@bitbucket.org//.git/' Pushing to https://@bitbucket.org//.git Completed with errors, see above.

Hello Maurizio. At the time I wrote the previous comment, the solution to my problem was to delete a file named passwd located in C:\Users\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree. However, the AppData is usually hidden by default, so you have to check the 'Hidden Items' box in the Views tab to actually access the folder (check here).

That password is cached in the SourceTree folder, hence why I could not reset or anything in any other way.

I do not know if you have tried this already or not. But maybe it can help you.

No solution. I've re-installed the whole OS, then SourceTree started to work.

Yesterday, I encountered the same issue, I cannot authenticate into bitbucket server with SourceTree.

My credetial are working if I try to login into the bitbucket from a web browser, I can refresh authentication token even from the SourceTree options dialog box, but SourceTree cannot login into bitbucket if I try either to fetch, pull or commit.

Tried to delete and re-create the credential, tried to uninstall and re-install sourcetree, tried to update embedded git and mercurial, tried to use embedded and system git and mercurial (any combination).

When I try to fetch from server I get this:

Logon failed, use ctrl+c to cancel basic credential prompt.
remote: Invalid username or password
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://SATE-Maurizio@bitbucket.org/SATE-Maurizio/<repository_name>/'
