Adding Fields to Project "Details" Page

jgraceeapexpert

Hi All,

I want to add a "Product Owner" field to the details of my project but don`t know how or if this is possible. Would I be able to get some help?

Additionally, on this same screen it uses the field Project Lead but when viewing all of your Jira projects, it labels it as Owner. This is very confusing. Is this able to be changed as well?

Thanks for the help!

HI @jgraceeapexpert

Welcome to the community!

Is that are you looking like the custom filed ie Product Owner on the issue view screen in Details panel like Type, Priority etc..as below.

Please provide more details so that we can help you on this.

Hi @Yogesh Mude,

Thank you for the welcome.

This is not what I am looking at. I am looking at adding this field on this screen as seen below.

sorry @jgraceeapexpert, I thought in Issue view screen.

Adding field to project details page is not possible without third-party add-on or code change..

Not a problem at all @Yogesh Mude. I understand. Is it possible to edit the "Owner" field on this screen to match the "Project lead" from the previous screenshot I sent?

Hello @jgraceeapexpert,

I get what you want, you wish you could add a Product Owner to the project itself, right? Other users brought this up in the past, way in the past, to allow administrators to assign custom fields to a project, this way you would be able to create the Product Owner custom field and assign it.

This is the feature request: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-1991

As you can see it's an old one, but we keep revisiting it, it's not closed, so it's not something that may never exist built-in the product, on the other hand, back then, we provided some add-ons as an option to customers, they were just for server, but as I checked, the Profields add-on has a Cloud version, I'd strongly suggest that you take a look at it to see it's features, take a free trial, I believe you can achieve what you want.

Edit: About your questions on the current Project details and navigator screens, it's not possible to add custom fields there and also not possible to rename the columns, but you make a good point about matching the names, I've raised this suggestion request about that:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69632

Leave your thoughts in it if you think I did not cover everything you have in mind! Also check our information about [how Atlassian implements New Features|https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/implementation-of-new-features-policy-201294576.html], in case you wish to understand how we triage feature requests.

Thank you very much for the informative response @Rodrigo B.! It is greatly appreciated! I will look into if Profields add-on will work for my needs.

I also wanted to know if its possible to either change names on this page (the one I first screenshotted) or on the page below to change either the Project lead field to another name or the Owner field to another name? Its confusing how there are different names on both of these pages for the same field.

Hey @jgraceeapexpert,

Apologies, I noticed shortly after that I missed that, I edited my comment, but here you go:
