Create JIRA tasks from Confluence meeting Tasks

After having a meeting documented in Confluence, there are several action items (Tasks).

All of us however get our work from our JIRA Scrum board. As such it would be very helpful to be able to easily convert a Confluence Task to a JIRA Task (or story, or bug, or just any odd ticket really).

Maybe the option already exists, but I did not find it with a quick search through docs, wiki's and trying various editing buttons.

Hi, I just found another way in the documentation. Once you save your page, you can then mark your action items and as a mouse over, you get a "Create issue" shown over your mouse pointer. Works really good. :-)

Hi,

if you create your tasks within a table and than highlight the first cell in the first row (subject) you can "inline create" a jira issue for every row in your table.

There is no easy way to "convert" Confluence-Tasks to Jira-Issues.

I always suggest to not use Confluence-Tasks as Tasks. More as a reminder or check-list.

Very nice little feature. Did not know that exists.

Does however create a bit of a mess. Tickets are created with the given data, but:

* A Task Due date is not taken into account (due date is within current sprint, tasks added to bottom of backlog)

* Task "description" is used for ticket title, but ticket body is link to referenced users' profile page on Confluence.

So, while it does help out somewhat, you must check all tickets and most likely still edit all of them. This kind of nullifies the purpose of the quick create button for me. But I'll take for now ;-)

Do you have to create each Tasks separately or is there a way to do the whole list? I tried selecting the whole list, but it just created one task.

Also, is there a way to see that the tasks has been transferred to Jira?

You can try using an add-on like Jcreate that allows you to create a Jira Issue from inside confluence while keeping the Jira experience.

Once Jcreate has created the new Jira issue, Jcreate refreshes and adds the Jira Issue macro to your page. The Jira Links button at the top of the Confluence page will be updated with the new Jira issue, See: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1224226/jcreate?hosting=server&tab=overview
