What is done to optimize jira page reloads

Kristian Rasmussen

Using jira as my goto tool for describing stories, features, epics and so on. I spend quite a lot of time waiting for page refreshes, reloading the menu bar and so on.

Does Atlassian have any plans on optimizing Jira into a single page app, or at lease throw in a little ajax to help? I find it quite tedious to wait forever on refreshes.

JIRA Performance = Your browser performance and settings + JIRA version, instance size and resources (RAM, CPU) + Network design and performance + Database type, location and performance

If one of the things are bad, you might get a worse experience with JIRA. It is a web application. There is a lot things done in JIRA without refresh and I think some settings might be optimized in order to get satisfied results. Start with checking on a different browser, compare times, settings, clear the cache, check again.. Do the same on a different network.. then add more resources to JIRA.. Step by step you will see what might be optimized to improve overall experience.
