I need to create a notification to a select group of people (via an email alias) whenever a P1 issue is created in a JIRA project. Any suggestions please.
Go in "JIRA Administration", click on "Issues", then click on "Notifications Schemes", select the correct scheme you want to modify, select kind of event and set the notification to the group you want.

What mean P1 to you ?
We have a custom field 'Priority' with different values (P1, P2, P3 etc.).
