How to hide personal spaces from certain users in Confluence?

Question

I've created a Jira/Confluence account for an external consultant in our Atlassian OnDemand. Since I only want him to see the Jira project he will be working in I added him to the Developer role for that project which does what I want.

Then I also just want him to see the corresponding Confluence space so I added him as an individual user to that space. Then he can see only that space as expected but in the "All updates" tab our employees' personal spaces blog updates etc. are shown. How do I hide those? I assume there is some permission for that?

We are currently deploying a Project Knowledge Base for external and internal projects with different customers. For reasons of confidentiality we want to prevent users from Customer A see users from Customer B.

Searching for one hour on google and Jira, I did not find any existing options for this.

Hi,

If you would like to hide the updates from "All updates" tab, you need to specify the Space permission for each space that you want to hide. You could achieve this by navigating to Administration >> Wiki >> Permissions >> Space Permissions. Click the relevant space and add the users or group that you want to have these restriction.

Unfortunately for now you could not exclude from permission. The workaround is to create new group, exclude that user from that group, and put this group in Space permissions.
