Hi everyone,
2026 has flown by, and we’re shipping our third major “release” jam packed with new features that cover three big areas:
- Faster, cleaner core Jira views
- More ways to see what agents are actually doing
- New tools to help admins delegate and scale
All features are rolling out to customers on the continuous release track over the next couple weeks and will be generally available across Jira Cloud by the end of November. Customers in the bundled release track will see features in the December and January release bundles.
Make daily Jira work faster and cleaner
Boards and work items are the foundation for seeing your team’s work. We’ve made common tasks quicker, without asking admins to rebuild how teams work.
Faster, better boards. Company-managed boards now load 22% faster, with smoother scrolling and real-time updates, so the view your team checks all day keeps up with the work. Subtasks and epics show as their own cards, and saved views and pinned filters bring back the setup you need in one click. Your workflows, data, and permissions carry over untouched, with no migration required.
A revamped work item view. This is the biggest update to our most viewed screen, ever. It's now built around a clear reading flow: a sticky status, fields in one section, and attachments in one place. Everyone can pin, reorder, and hide fields without changing what teammates see so their work items work for them. Invoke agents with one click while maintaining human accountability (with no empty placeholder if you’re not using one).
Less work when creating work. Ever go to open a Jira work item and get overwhelmed by all the fields? Filling in fields can be tedious, which leads people to skip it entirely. Half-filled in work items are harder to find, filter, and report on. Now Jira suggests values for labels, assignee, parent, priority, and more, based on how your space is actually used. Nothing is applied automatically, so you stay in control.
See, manage, and measure agents
Agents are showing up in more Jira work, and you need more than just proof that they exist – you need to see what they’re doing, give them the right context so they do better work, and understand their impact to keep results while staying within your seat, consumption, and token budgets.
See agents in the work itself. As agents take on more real work, teams need to know who's doing what. With Atlassian's Agentic Multiplayer Protocol (AMP), every agent has its own identity and a clear owner. Agents show up where the work happens: on the board, in list, and on the work item. You can see what an agent is working on, review its output, and stay in charge.
Manage agents in space settings. Until now, agents were scattered across app menus, automation rules, and workflow transitions. A new Agents page in Space Settings gives admins one place to see every active and available agent and what triggers it. Add space-specific knowledge and instructions so agents give more relevant, accurate help. You can also set guardrails, such as auto-approval fields, so they act within limits you trust.
Check the results. Seat counts and token bills don't tell you whether agents are actually helping. The Agents dashboard in the space Reports tab connects activity across Rovo, coding tools, and third-party agents to cycle time, throughput, and shipped work. It's set up by default with no configuration, with an agent-aware chart builder and Rovo insights to help you dig into what's driving the trends.
Keep teams consistent without the extra admin work
When every team creates its own fields and statuses, reporting across spaces gets messy. These new features let you set a sensible starting point while leaving teams room to run their work, their way.
Reuse a space that already works. We launched custom templates for our Enterprise plan customers last year, but we know admins everywhere don’t like being a bottleneck. We heard your feedback, and now custom templates are available to customers on all paid plans. Admins and team leads can turn a space that already runs well into a reusable template, including its workflows, work types, views, and embedded agents. New teams start ready to work on day one.
Set the rules once for new spaces. Admins have had to choose between: leaving team-managed spaces open and risk duplicate fields and statuses, or locking them down and becoming the approval queue. Now, space policies let you allow only global fields, only global statuses, or both, and set a default for every new space. Teams set up their own spaces within those limits, and you spend less time on routine configuration requests.
Use the same statuses across teams. When every team-managed space creates its own statuses, you end up with “In Progress,” “Progress,” “In-Progress”, and “Working.” That means cluttered JQL and reports that don't line up. Teams can now find and use approved global statuses right from the workflow editor, the board, and the work item. They still map their own process, but your reporting across spaces is actually reliable.
That’s the autumn release: teams get a better day-to-day experience, you get better visibility into agentic work, and admins get more useful defaults without having to manage every detail by hand.

Thanks for being on the journey with us. The winter release will drop in early 2027.
