Hi Community,
In Jira Software Cloud, the Development page provides engineering managers and team leads with a unified view of delivery health—bringing together key metrics, related work (like pull requests and deployments), and proactive recommendations across the software development lifecycle.
As part of this experience, the Work suggestions tab was designed to surface context-aware actions to help unblock teams, such as highlighting inactive pull requests, issues due soon, blocking work items, or missing descriptions.
As we continuously evaluate how teams interact with these capabilities and where our engineering investments deliver the most value, we are announcing an upcoming change: we will be retiring the Work suggestions tab from the Development page in Jira Software Cloud starting this week.
Why is this changing?
When we introduced Work Suggestions on the Development page, the goal was to reduce context-switching and help engineering leaders spot stalled work and delivery blockers early.
However, ongoing usage analysis and user feedback have shown low adoption and engagement with this specific tab. Rather than maintaining suggestions that aren't providing the high level of value our customers expect, retiring this tab allows us to simplify the Development page and refocus our efforts on core developer experience priorities.
What does this mean for you?
The Work suggestions tab will be removed from the Development page (/jira/software/c/projects/<KEY>/development) in your software spaces. No other feature will be changed within the page and there are no admin actions required.
Rollout Timeline
The progressive rollout to retire the tab begins November 2, 2026. You may notice the tab disappear from your software spaces over the coming days.
