Reports Tab in Jira Cloud | Based on Space only

I have created a dummy space with 3 boards (1 Scrum and 2 Kanban Boards), based on a custom field, to differentiate between sub-teams. In order to gain insights into the backlog and delivery of the teams, I was looking to use the Report Tab available in the boards, but notices that the configuration is based on the whole space filter. Introducing a secondary filter on the Report Tab, I wanted to filter for Team 1 only on their board, but noticed that the Report Tab on the board for Team 2 was affected as well.

Hence my question: Is the Report Tab always valid for all boards in the space, or is there a way to customize it per board in that space?

In Jira Cloud, it's important to distinguish between space-level insights and classic board reports.

The Reports tab includes space insights, which are based on the space rather than individual boards. Therefore, configuring a filter for Team 1 doesn't necessarily create an independent reporting scope for that board.

However, classic Jira reports can be board-specific. Atlassian confirms that these reports run against the board you're currently viewing.

For your setup, I would recommend:

1. Create a separate saved JQL filter for each team using your custom field.
2. Configure each Scrum/Kanban board to use its corresponding saved filter.
3. Open the appropriate board and navigate to Reports → More reports to access classic reports.
4. For more flexible team-specific reporting, consider separate Jira dashboards with gadgets based on each team's saved filter.

Also, keep in mind that quick/custom filters are primarily intended to filter the board view, not necessarily the underlying reporting data.
