Hi,
Like this post here two years ago:
Is there no way to save the settings set here? Because whenever you leave the calendar view and come back, it will go back to the default view (i.e., 5-day view & Sunday being the first day of the week) which is quite not user friendly.
Hi @Shyuan
Interestingly, Atlassian's official documentation explicitly states that the Week starts on setting is automatically saved:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-your-calendar/
So this looks like either a bug or outdated documentation.
Could you test whether the settings also reset in another browser? If so, I'd recommend reporting it to Atlassian Support with your screenshots.
Best,

Hi @Shyuan,
According to Atlassian’s documentation for the Jira calendar, the week start should not reset. To change it, you open View settings in the top right of the calendar and pick a day under Week settings > Week starts on. Atlassian says that choice is saved automatically. (Configure your calendar)
So if it reverts to Sunday every time you come back, that is not the documented behavior. I would check these things:
For the 5-day view, the docs don’t say whether that option is saved, so I can’t confirm the expected behavior there. If it is the only thing that keeps resetting, it’s worth mentioning in the same support ticket.
Hope this helps! Cheers, Martin
Hmm @Shyuan @Robert Hiles
I've just tried changing these options in my settings on two sites, and they remain when I switch back and forth to Calendar view. When I use a hard refresh, the config. stays as I've configured it. 👀
Can you try this 🤔:
Would be worth checking if other folks in your company are experiencing the same thing.
Cheers, Tobi
Hi @Shyuan , good news: that 2024 thread is out of date. Atlassian fixed calendar filter and view settings not saving in JRACLOUD-84580 (closed as fixed in December 2025), and the calendar doc says your "Week starts on" choice saves automatically. So @Tomislav Tobijas , @Martin Runge and @Arkadiusz Wroblewski are on the right track. Since it sticks for Tomislav, I'd look at your browser first: a private window, an extension, or a setting that clears cookies and site data on exit would all cause this. Try another browser to confirm. If it still resets in a clean browser, I'd open a Support ticket and mention JRACLOUD-84580 so they treat it as a regression.
