Hello,

Is there a way to stop Jira notifying me of updates I've just made?

Scenario: I leave a comment on a work item

Notification Bell: 1️⃣

Check notification: You've commented on a work item

I know there used to be a way to turn off self notifications but that seems to be a thing of the past. I can turn it all off, but that is not productive.

Any help would be appreciated.

But yeah - as Sebastian said, this is now mainly handled via Notification settings (via Personal Jira settings):

By default, this should be disabled, but potentially something happened that resulted in that check being ticked ✔️

Only if we're not talking about this and something else seems to be an issue 🤔

Ah so my issue is slightly different. I don't receive emails notifications I do everything through Jira. I know you can turn off email notifications for your own changes, but this option doesn't seem to exist for the notification Bell. 🫪

I agreed with @Tomislav Tobijas and the other community champion suggested. Another thing you may want to look into is the notification scheme configuration at the each space level to remove the default system event notifications in the scheme as appropriate.

Notification schemes do not have granular detail to allow such things as "do not notify yourself"

This is only relevant to the notification bell, not email notifications. For example why do I need to be notified that I left a comment, completely unnecessary.
