Issue type Epic doesn't appear in the kanban

I created an issue type Epic, I put the status "Backlog" and when I go on my kanban board, I don't see my issue. Why?

Hi Manuel,

In a team-managed space an epic doesn't show as a card on the board, whatever status it's in. Atlassian's KB says so: "Performing these steps in a Team Managed project does not make the Epic visible on the board. Here you need to use the Timeline or Epic panel to view the Epics."

On the board I'd use Group > Epic, which gives each epic its own lane, but only once it has a child work item on the board. From your screenshot yours has none yet, so it won't appear until you add one. The epic is listed on the Timeline and in the List even without children. The Backlog view also has an Epic panel under View settings, but once you add that view, anything made with the Create button at the top lands in the backlog and has to be moved to the board, so I'd only add it if you want a backlog.

I checked those names on an English test site. Your French labels will differ.

Please check kanban board filter. It looks like epic type is excluded.

If you want Epics to show as cards on the Kanban board:

Make sure your space is company-managed.
Go to Board settings → Columns. This is where you choose how Epics are shown on the board. Turn on Display as cards on the board.
Make sure the board filter doesn't exclude Epics.

One more thing worth checking is the status mapping under Board settings → Columns.

Since the Epic is currently in the Backlog status, make sure that status is actually mapped to either the Kanban backlog or one of the board columns. If it appears under Unmapped statuses, issues in that status won't be displayed on the board/backlog.
