Hey, Atlassian admin, congratulations on making the move to Atlassian Cloud!
Migration is a major milestone, but as we’re sure you’ve noticed, the work doesn’t end when your data arrives. As you navigate new ways of managing users, security, and team adoption, it can be tempting to replicate your old Data Center setup, which often means selling yourself short on all the great Cloud value you’ve just unlocked.
To help you hit the ground running, we’ve rounded up four essential educational resources to bookmark and revisit, so you and your team can confidently build skills, drive adoption, and maximize your cloud investment.
1. Atlassian Learning: “Transition to Atlassian Cloud”
Atlassian Learning provides a wealth of free, on-demand information about how to get started and understand the full breadth of what Cloud has to offer, broken into digestible chunks.
We specifically built this learning path for teams that have just completed a migration, covering common questions such as new admin role structures, navigating Atlassian Administration, and key differences between Data Center and Cloud.
I recommend sharing this link with your entire team and power users, as this is a great way to help anyone understand what’s changing, even if you are still in the process of migrating.
For live guidance, check the live events and webinars calendar for upcoming sessions and migration-focused webinars. As a bonus, these events typically have Atlassian team members on the line who can answer questions directly.
2. Cloud Adoption Toolkit
We’ve helped countless admins onboard to Cloud, and one lesson always rings true: successful adoption prioritizes helping people work confidently in the new environment. To help guide the teams championing that effort, we’ve built a curated toolkit of resources for admins and the end users they support.
Here, you’ll find playbooks, templates, and guidance for everything from change management to introducing new ways of working to your teams. Use these pages to turn your migration milestone into a lasting adoption plan.
3. Atlassian Community
Since you’re reading this in Atlassian Community, you’re already in the right place for endless support! The Migration Community, Enterprise Community, and Admin Community are great places to ask questions, compare approaches, and learn from other teams that have already made the transition.
This is also where my team, the migrations and Platform marketing team, shares product announcements and news. Join these groups to get email notifications about new posts so you never miss the latest.
Pro tip: Keep an eye out for the Admin Digest for a regular roundup of what’s new and what other admins are discussing. It’s an easy way to stay connected without having to monitor every conversation.
4. Release notes and Atlassian Support
Cloud moves quickly, and we try to make it as easy as possible to stay informed. The “What's new across Atlassian” page of release notes in Atlassian Community centralizes updates and can be filtered to only show you the most relevant content.
I recommend getting to know the App updates tab in Atlassian Administration to track what’s coming to your instances. It’s also worth learning how release tracks work and subscribing to release notes so new features don’t catch your team off guard.
To dive even deeper, use Atlassian Support for product guidance and troubleshooting.
