Users Email Address showing in the Asset Function

Hi

Is it possible to bring the user's email address into the Asset Schema

What we would like to happen is when you select the Used By and select a user, we have a field for the Email or the Used By be switched so the team select the Email Address - so you see the full name and email in that field rather that the name ?

This will then assist with identifying people with the same name

It cannot be done when you select the user, the user attribute will only show the name of the user. But what you can do is have a global automation that sets the email address when the Used By attribute is updated.

Used By is a user attribute right?

This will show the user name not the email.

You will have have another attribute where you specify the email address.

If you use a User attribute to link a Jira user the Name of the Account will be shown, this is not changeable.

Used by its a reference field to a user object, unless the user object have an email you cant.

If you had a user field, you could call the API and get the email.

If the user object has an attribute called "email", with automation you get it with this smart value:

Currently, there is no standard alternative for displaying the email address stored as an attribute of the employee object.

However, it is possible to replicate this using a global automation; here is an example I created to test this scenario.

With this automation, when the email information on the employee object is changed, the email text is replicated to the laptop object—which also has an email field. This was just a quick test scenario I created; while further validations would be needed for a production implementation, it serves to demonstrate that it is possible.
