Hello Atlassian Community,
I have a question regarding Jira Cloud user accounts and would appreciate your guidance.
One of our users accidentally started using an incorrect Atlassian account a long time ago.
We currently have two different Atlassian accounts for the same user:
- Incorrect account (currently in use):
<span>aaditya.khule@ordinet.in</span> (double "a") - Correct/original account:
<span>aditya.khule@ordinet.in</span> (single "a")
The user has been working with the incorrect account (<span>aaditya.khule@ordinet.in</span>) for a long time, so this account contains all of his Jira data, including assigned issues, worklogs, comments, history, dashboards, filters, and other activities.
We would like the user to continue using only the original account (<span>aditya.khule@ordinet.in</span>).
Our questions are:
- Is it possible to transfer or migrate all Jira data from
<span>aaditya.khule@ordinet.in</span> to <span>aditya.khule@ordinet.in</span>? - If we change the email address of the incorrect account from
<span>aaditya.khule@ordinet.in</span> to <span>aditya.khule@ordinet.in</span>, will all the existing Jira data automatically become associated with the original account? - Or are these considered two separate Atlassian accounts, meaning the issue history, worklogs, comments, and other audit information will remain linked to the original account that created them?
- What is the recommended and safest approach to consolidate these two accounts without losing historical Jira data?
We are using Jira Cloud.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
