API Token

Question

This is the only application I have in my confluence account to create an API Token.

BitbucketAPI token can only access Bitbucket APIs and perform git operations.

I need to link Claude Code to Confluence; I already have Jira, but with Confluence is not possible

Can't you just use the Atlassian plugin for Claude/Claude Code? With this, you could simply use OAuth, meaning simple authorization. 👀

I think there might be a small mix-up here.

The API token you're looking at in Bitbucket (App passwords) is Bitbucket-specific — that's correct, those only work for Bitbucket APIs and git operations.

For Confluence Cloud (and Jira Cloud), you need an Atlassian API token, which is created from a different place entirely:

1. Go to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens

2. Click "Create API token"

When configuring Claude Code, you'd typically use: – Base URL: https://your-domain.atlassian.net/wiki (for Confluence) – Auth: Basic auth with your email + the API token

Since you mentioned you already have Jira working, you can actually use the same API token for Confluence — they both authenticate through the same Atlassian account. Just make sure you're pointing to the `/wiki` endpoint for Confluence-specific API calls.
