How do I add pre-existing field to sub-tasks?

I need to add the Original Estimate field  (or something similar) to sub-tasks as they are estimated separately from the Story. We are a multi-discipline team so to complete a Story (essentially a feature) I have to break out sub-tasks per discipline.

The scheme I am using is Epic -> Story > Sub-task 

We are using JIRA Cloud

Check the field configuration for the sub-tasks, and ensure that does not hide the "time tracking" field.

Then go to the project "issue type screen scheme" to identify what screen schemes are in use by the sub-tasks.  Inside those, there are a list of screens in use - make sure time tracking is added to the create and edit screen.
