How to block the edition of a work item after transition in a Team Managed Space?

I'm trying to block the ticket edition in a Team Managed Space whenever a ticket transitions to the Done status. I've tried via workflow properties setting jira.issue.editable to false but the work item is still editable. Does this feature work in a Team Managed Space? Is there another possible workaround?

It works in team-managed spaces now. I tested it on a Jira Cloud site in October 2026: jira.issue.editable = false on Done locked the work item in the interface and in the REST API, and the work item stayed visible. JRACLOUD-87543 was closed in 2024.

Where to set it:

* Space settings → Work types, pick the work type and choose Edit workflow.
* Select the Done status and open Properties.
* Add the key jira.issue.editable with the value false.
* Save. Jira asks which work types should use the workflow: include every work type that should lock.

If a work item still stays editable, check its work type: in a team-managed space each work type can have its own workflow.

For my use case I need to have access to the work item. With the presented workaround the work item is hidden.
