Migrate Space data from one account to another

Hello -

I am a project manager for a tech agency managing projects for the agency's clients. We have our agency account on jira where we manage and track all client project under respective spaces.

One particular client wants to manage the project under their jira account.

How do I migrate all of the data of this client's space from my agency's account to their?

Details;

- I am admin on my account and on theirs's as well

- I have tried cloud transfer but the "destination" dropdown appears blank

- I have tried csv import from my agency account, but when I upload the file on the client's Jira, it does not move forward from the "map fields" page. The "next" button does not work.

Need help here.

Adding a bit more context to the points already shared about permissions and Cloud transfer between Jira sites.

A few things may be considered while trying to move the project between Jira Cloud instances:

* Admin access on both sides: For Cloud-to-Cloud copy options to work, the same user usually needs Organization Admin and Jira admin access in both organizations. If the accounts are different, the destination site may not appear.
* Project configuration: Whether the project is team-managed or company-managed can influence which migration approaches are available.
* CSV import limitations: CSV mainly transfers issue records. Items like comments, attachments, issue links, and history typically do not migrate this way.
* Field mapping during import: Required fields such as Summary, Issue Type, and Project must be mapped correctly, otherwise the import wizard may not allow you to proceed.
* Downtime planning: Manual export and import methods usually require a short freeze period to prevent data changes during the move.

In cases like this, some teams also look at migration tools built for project-level moves between Jira environments. hey - No, the accounts are not the same, thats why I opted for the manual export/import option. Which is also not working as stated above.

Project type; Software and Team Managed.

Hello @QA Team

If you want to move a client’s Jira project from one Cloud site to another, I would not use CSV as the primary method.

For Cloud to Cloud, the better route is the Jira copy/transfer process. The blank destination dropdown usually means the same account does not yet meet all prerequisites on both sides, especially Org Admin + App Admin + app user access on both Cloud organizations.

CSV import is more limited and manual. If the Next button stays inactive on the field mapping step, I would double-check that mandatory fields such as Summary are mapped correctly.

CSV are more Mapping dependant.

So yep, my first focus would be fixing the Cloud-to-Cloud permissions/prerequisites, not continuing with CSV.
