Issue Transition Email Not Received Using Post Function and Notification Scheme

Hi,

I created a notification event (Issue Updated / Issue Moved – Send Mail for Project Role) and added it to the Notification Scheme with the respective project role. I also added this event as a post function for the specific transition (Draft → In Approval). However, I did not receive any email. Could someone please guide me on how to receive emails for a specific project role during the transition (Draft to In Approval) using a post function?

I guess you properly followed this kb (Configure email notifications for a custom event | Atlassian Support)

When you are expecting a notification, is it for an event you have triggered yourself ? In that case it could explain why you did not receive any notification as default behaviour is that you are not notified for your own change.

I think it can be updated here <baseURL>/jira/settings/personal/notifications

In Jira, emails are not sent directly by post functions. A post function can only trigger an event, and the actual email is sent only if the Notification Scheme is correctly configured for that event. To receive emails during the Draft → In Approval transition, make sure the post function is “Fire a Generic Event” or a custom event, and that the same exact event is added in the project’s Notification Scheme with the required Project Role. Also confirm that users are correctly assigned to that role and that outgoing mail is enabled. If the event fired by the transition does not exactly match the event configured in the Notification Scheme, no email will be sent. This is expected behavior in Atlassian Jira workflows.
