Migrating My Spaces/Projects

I would like to know if it is possible to migrate or copy my Jira/Confluence Spaces and Projects from a shared account to a new personal account while preserving all my content and structure.

I understand there may be limitations, but I would greatly appreciate your guidance on whether this is possible or not.

Hi @Qusai Alattas and welcome to the community!

Yes, it’s possible to migrate just a single Jira project with Atlassian’s Data transfer (a.k.a. “Copy product data”), as long as you’re an organization admin for both the source and the destination.

Where this gets tricky in practice is usually one of these:

* You’re not org admin on both sides (or can’t get that access).
* You want more control over what gets moved (e.g., only a subset of issues, or specific fields/content).
* You want a repeatable approach you can run per client/project without touching the rest of the instance.

With our app's, Deep Clone for Jira, Instance Clone feature, you can use Space Clone to clone an entire project (including issues, components, versions, and settings) between different Jira sites.

Hello everyone,

We are working with a shared Jira Cloud instance that contains multiple projects for different clients.

One client would like to migrate only their specific Jira project to a new Jira Cloud site, while leaving all other projects behind.

My question is specifically about Copy Product Data / Data transfer:

Is it possible to migrate a single Jira project only using Copy Product Data, or does this feature always copy the entire Jira product (all projects in the site)?

If copying a single project is not supported with Copy Product Data, I would appreciate confirmation of the officially recommended approach for this scenario.
