Error Occurs When Attempting to Change Role from Member to Administrator

Question

I am the owner and administrator of our JIRA Space. I attempted to change a team member’s role from Member to Administrator, but I receive the alert:
“Error : Something went wrong. Please try again.”
and the change does not go through.

I also asked other administrators in this Space to try, but they all reported the same issue. We have an urgent task that requires this role change, so I would greatly appreciate your prompt guidance on how to resolve this.

Could you please try once the below workaround?

* Add the Project permission through admin.atlassian.com in "Jira product > three-dot menu > View Jira Project Roles“ from the User Page in Directory, instead of going directly to the Jira Project’s settings. If you don't have access, an Org-Admin might be able to help with this one.
