Is there a way I can create an event when a Kanban column constraint is reached/breached? It would be great if a user could be alerted by email when this occurs.
At this time, this isn't possible. The only indication of a violated constraint is the color coded background of that column. However, there has been a feature request (albeit old) that you can vote on to help push this to get made:
