How to filter automation rules and export

Question

I want to export all the automation rules from my prod instance and import in to sandbox instance. But Jira not allowing me to import the JSON file larger than the 5MB, but my file size is 9 MB.

So i want to export automation rules by two parts and then will import.

Adding to the ideas from @Trudy P Claspill here is the suggestion to add the ability to split any exported rule file so it can be imported under the limits.  You may vote for / watch it to see any progress.

Jira Cloud doesn't support exporting anything less than all the automation rules.

After you have that file you will have to manually edit it to split it into smaller files.

You will have to ensure that you keep a valid file format. You can't just split the file at a random location. You will have to make sure that each rule in each file is itself complete. You will also have to ensure that the elements outside the rules that appear at the beginning and end of the original file are present at the begging and end of each of the smaller files.
