If user has Edit permissions Then user gets Search results.
If user has Read permissions Then user does not get Search results.
Why? I can't find anything in the documentation that differentiates.

Look for inherited limits or incorrectly applied group permissions by double-checking the permission settings at the Space and Page levels. Verify the permission needs of the connector you are using, as native Confluence search does not automatically restrict search results to users with Edit access.
