Error when using Rovo Agents to Create Epic

As per Solved: Work Item Planner Agent - Wont create things in Ji... I created a copy of the Work Item Planner agent and gave it the necessary knowledge and permissions:

However I keep getting the same error when attempting to have it create an Epic for me:

@Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ @Jensen Fleming @Shalini Pradhan it has been 6 months since I created this thread. Since then the issue has still not been resolved and a number of users below have been reporting their issues. I have created a brand new agent today, and have enabled it to use the new model. Yet, I still can't use the agent. The response to the very first message is:

error_category: BAD_REQUEST_ERROR, error_type: bad_request, model: gemini-3-flash-preview, status: 400, gateway_request_id: dcc343fe-88338, gateway_message: , gateway_error: Bad Request, gateway_path: /v1/google/v1/publishers/google/models/gemini-3-flash-preview:streamGenerateContent, upstream_status_code: 400

1) For a product that faces non-technical users, I would expect your user stories to feature customer-friendly error messages. This suggests that this is a bug that you're not aware of.
2) As a Product Owner I am empathetic however It's crazy that 6 months in, agents still aren't working. Please can you support us with this?

are you trying to create multiple Epics at the same time?

I assume you clicked on "Create epic" right before that error message?

I thought of adding that detail into the Q but held off because I thought it was obvious; the one time I forego adding detail haha!

Yes I did click on 'Create epic' before it processed for a minute or two before showing this error

I assume it was only trying to create the single Epic (as per preceding instructions), but how can I be sure

Hi, I am getting the same error when using Rovo to open a Jira ticket. It offers to open the ticket and I click on the button after it drafts the ticket text but then the error appears: Screenshot 2025-09-24 162720.png

I'm getting the same error when trying to create Epics. I can create them manually but my agent fails every time.

Additionally, just curious how you go about escalating to Atlassian themselves, as I understand you don't work for them, or do you haha? I'm guessing as a Community Champion you have an escalation path?

Same here, I provied all required fields to Rovo but same error keeps popping up.

Tried it with story or task, same error. Just one simple story with like 5-10 fields.

Rovo shows the summary after providing the details and that summary looks ok.
Clicked Create story but error appears.

Can it that that Rovo is missing permissions to create story in the project? If so, where to set?

Today ist the 06. November, and Rovo still struggles to creat a simple Jira Issue.

I get the same error when clicking on "Creat Issue" at the end of the Chat with the Rovo Agent:

Addendum:
A simple Task can be created by Rovo, but when creating our custom Work Item, it fails with the error above.

I'm having many issues getting Rovo chat to create epics with child stories. Apparently, It can't update the Parent field and many times tries to update the deprecated Epic Link field.

This is the most common error I get when creating stories.

I've submitted dozens of feedbacks for this, but it's quite frustrating.

It's crazy this we're still blocked from having Rovo create issues. None of the support articles about the permissions and Rovo setup have resolved this problem. Rovo still cannot do it!

Where are we at this? This is a huge problem and must be resolved. I'm eager to test it, tried multiple alternatives, none worked so far. Atlassian Support also report this is a dev problem and can't do much, even with workarounds and or creative alternatives.
