Jira Property to allow automation to run on particular state

Question

Hi All,

We have written automation to update field value in particular state. which was working earlier is not working now. It's because we have added Jira edit properties to particular roles.

We have given edit ticket access to below jira properties.

* jira.permission.edit.user - 5dd23a9723cbe90ee7b40317
* jira.permission.edit.projectrole  10002

Due to this automation is not updating the value.

Is there any way that we can add automation Jira properties to add?

Or any solution to make automation to work even if those properties exist?

Note: If we remove those properties then automation is working fine.

Hey @Prathap DL

The default project role atlassian-addons-project-access is used by automation for Jira and other third-party apps. You can add the ID of this project role to the workflow properties.

Dear @Prathap DL ,

Maybe you can try to set the actor of the automation to the user that has the ability to edit the issue.

Maybe add another user to the edit permission, using the property. Also make sure that the user has the required role also.

Important note: you can create service users in Cloud, for which you can set permissions also.

Other way is set in the automation actor a user (better a service user) and set it in the workflow properties.
