How to load Definition of Done checklist template using Automation while Transition

Question

Hello,

I have created a check list for Definition of Done (DOD), which I am loading manually every time a story/bug created using "Load Templates" option and selecting the required template from the available list. However, I have a ask to load it dynamically when story/bug status changed to "In progress".

So, I am seeking a guidance on what component/conditions or values should I used to achieve this task.

Please note using any plug-ins are not allowed for us.

My name is Gracjan, and I work with HeroCoders, the team behind the Checklist app that you are using.

Please be informed that you can add a checklist on issue transition using label integration feature.

* Ensure the Apply checklist templates via labels global setting is enabled.
* Note the name of the template you wish to apply, and ensure that the name does not include spaces.
* In your automation, click New component and select New action.
* Select Edit work item.
* Select Labels as the field to be edited, and enter the name of the template.

Hi Nagendra,

as @Bill Sheboy suggested, It’s best to check the documentation for the specific checklist app your team is using, as many offer automation options that might fit your needs. For example, apart from loading the checklist at the ticket creation time, some apps also allow checklist templates to be loaded automatically based on JQL conditions during transitions as well.

If your current solution doesn’t support this and you’re still running into roadblocks, feel free to share more details, happy to brainstorm possible workarounds.

I appears you are already using a marketplace app to add checklists as there is no built-in feature for checklists with templates.

Please ask your admin which app you are using and then check their documentation to learn how to use their checklists with automation rules.
