Best way to Migrate Content in Confluence (mix of editable and linked pages)

I’m building a Handbook in Confluence and would love some advice on the best structure.

Here’s the situation:

• The Handbook lives in its own Space.
• Some pages are created and maintained directly in this Space, and they’ll be reviewed/edited over time.
• Other content already lives in different Spaces, but I’d like to surface those pages inside the Handbook (without duplicating them), ideally using Smart Links or something similar.

 

My goal is to bring all of this together in one cohesive Handbook experience for readers—while avoiding disruption for the original content owners in other Spaces.

Has anyone set up something similar? What’s the most effective way to combine owned pages + linked pages into one handbook without confusing navigation or breaking links?

I think your approach makes sense, keeping the handbook content editable in its own space, and then surfacing pages from other spaces without duplicating them.

One thing you might want to look into is the Include Page macro or even marketplace apps like “Refined” or “Scroll Documents.” They can give you more flexibility with how linked content is displayed and how navigation feels for readers.

It sounds like you’re on the right track, and adding one of these tools might make the experience smoother for both editors and readers.
