Where can I see JIRA Release notes?

Sherwin Soriano_cnhh8m

Hi!

It is very hard to navigate here in JIRA on where I can check what are the changes that happened or what is the future upgrades or changes that will be coming in JIRA...

Can someone point me where the link that houses these details?

I am frustrated that I cannot see where the release note section is.

Hi @Sherwin Soriano ,

I understand your frustration — it can definitely feel confusing to track where to find release information for Jira. Let me share some official resources that might help.

For Jira Cloud, Atlassian maintains an official roadmap that highlights upcoming changes and planned upgrades:

https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/cloud?selectedProduct=jsw

For Jira Data Center, you can find past release notes and end of support policy here:

I hope this helps.

Hi @Sherwin Soriano I also found it hard to keep up with changes in the Cloud products.

In the spirit of "be the change you seek", I've created a site that makes it easier to filter updates by product, subscribe via RSS or download changes in PDF or CSV format.

You can find it here: https://cloud-updates.released.so/

Hope you'll find it helpful.

Jira does have in-app release notes as well where every change gets published. See the image below on how to access it.

Atlassian, you need to change your culture or ways of informing your customers on what changes you did... it is very frustrating to navigate on the site on where I need to go to, to get the release notes

My recommendation if you dont mind to read is

1. if it is not a burden as this is global email to your customers on specific product that 5d from now, we will upgrade this product and here are the changes or release note.

I do not understand why this simple courtesy cannot be done, why is it very hard to send email notifications to your customers (especially the premium ones) about a future changes or before it even happen?

2. Can you please put a footnote to a major site per product about the release notes or changes.

I also do not understand why this cannot be embedded in the foot note section of the overall website. They do not know the burden you are giving to the administrators that when managers or executives ask why the UI change in JIRA and the admins are scrambling to get the notes.

@Sherwin Soriano in Atlassian's defense, it's not as simply as you suggest or might think. There are thousands of engineers contributing changes every hour and shipping daily.

Atlassian also has release tracks for Premium and tiers and above, in which new features are bundled. There is a separate release announcement for those changes in the admin area.

Lastly, as an admin you can see all changes in the admin area (see picture below). It's still tedious to get to all the changes in there, hence I've built the site linked above to make this easier.

With the new UI update in JIRA cloud, I cannot see this App Update for JIRA... weird...
