Retrieving Teams

Question

Hi

Is there a way to retrieve a list of all Teams created in Jira using API?

We are using Assets and I need to be able to get our Jira Teams into Assets, preferably as an object type, and as we do not use Services (where you can select Responder team), my only solution is to pull all the Teams through API, make a csv file and import this in Assets.

If anyone has a more elegant way of getting Teams in Assets, I'd really like to know :)

Thanks for your answer. However, I don't think I'd like to use User Groups for this.

I see that it should be possible to pull Teams connected to a plan through the Jira Cloud API, so right now I'm trying to see if that could work for me; adding all our Teams to one plan and then do an API call to get them.

Man, do I understand your pain point.

Sadly, at least in my experience, you won't be able to use Teams effectively yet in Assets. There is no easy way to import the information  and if you were to successfully import it with a cron job and some API calls, you wouldn't have access to the functionality, as you would need to store the team as some kind of plain text.

You could create an object type to represent the team, but you still wouldn't be able to create automations for developer escalations and the like.

My suggestion would be to use User Groups, as that will probably be more usefull to you. I had this problem with a client recently, and we ended up creating a User Group that represents all the members of a Team and using that.
