System Description field

Question

Hi Team,

I have one requirement: In one of my projects, I have Risk, defect, and incident issue types. For all these issues, we have a description field. In that description field, I need to add a separate template for these issue types. for one issue type, I have added the context for another issue I was unable to add.

For all the issues the templates are different.

I think Shalini's answer is true for Data Center

* The selection of apps is different. Default Values for Create Issue Screen might be a better fit for you.
* Depending what version you are using it does support Automation.

We are using Jira DATA Centre, Not cloud

Currently, Jira Cloud does not natively support predefined templates in comments or custom text fields.

As a workaround:

* You can use Issue Templates Picker - Summary, Description and more or Issue Templates for Jira Cloud  marketplace apps
* You can use Automation. More details here: Set Default Description Template for Jira Cloud Work Item Types
