Upgrade JIRA 6.3.15 to JIRA 7 Add-ons

What is the process for upgrading from JIRA 6 to JIRA 7 in regards to the add-ons.

Should I upgrade all the add-ons before switching over to JIRA 7? For example, the Agile and Service Desk add-ons have changed in 7 and I'm not sure what needs to be done to them before the upgrade.

You should upgrade the addons after installing JIRA 7. Please make sure that the addons that you're using in your JIRA instance are compatible with JIRA 7 by visiting the Atlassian Marketplace, search for the addon and check the versions tab for the compatibility information. JIRA Agile and Service desk are now considered applications in JIRA 7. You can install JIRA Software package (which includes Agile) and after that install JIRA Service Desk in the applications page (COG ICON > Applications) by uploading the application .OBR file that can be downloaded here.
