How to switch a workflow with Cancelled status to Done status with resolution CANCELLED

I am switching a workflow which has statuses like CANCELLED, NOT REQUIRED etc to a simpler workflow with statuses TO DO, IN-PROGRESS and Done with a Resolution field.

In the new workflow, I have set up transition screen and all works fine when creating/updating issues manually.

But when switching the working flow, I am mapping the Cancelled, Duplicate and Not required status to DONE status. But how do I set the resolution as below. The resolutions for these statuses are being set to DONE.

How do I get the below result? Anyone able to help?

On the transition to Done, remove the post function that sets the Resolution to done.

Create a screen that has the field resolution on it and set this screen on the transition to Done in the workflow.

The author already did that and stated that when transitioning issues manually it works as expected.

If I understand the post correctly, I think the issue being asked about is when the workflow itself is updated to remove the old statuses and then published, there is an option to map the old statuses to new statuses but no option to reset/map the Resolutions.

That I have misread, but indeed based on workflow changes the resolution can't be changed. this can only be done creating transition on the workflow at forehand

Example: create a transition to itself where the resolution is set as a post function. then find the issue you need and bulk transition them.

I have another workaround that I might go with.

Before the workflow is updated without the 'NOT REQUIRED' status. I will mark the issues with 'NOT REQUIRED' using a label or adding a comment, so it gets a last updated timestamp.
Once migrated, the status gets 'DONE' and in my test the resolution was EMPTY.
After the migration to new workflow, I will move those labeled issues to IN-PROGRESS, followed by DONE. At this step, it brings the resolution transition screen and I choose 'NOT REQUIRED' as resolution.

This is a few steps manual workaround. But was not hard using BULK UPDATES.
