Cannot insert image in confluence pages

Louie Lu

The insert image icon is grey and cannot be used to upload an image.

I tried to add the image from the plus sign(+), but it didn't work as well.

Hi @Louie Lu

Welcome to the community!

This usually happens when either permissions or page state block uploads. A couple of quick checks:

• Permissions – You might have edit access but not the “Attach Files” permission. Ask your space admin to confirm this under Space Settings → Permissions. Refer: How to upload-a-file .
• Edit Mode – Make sure you’re in full page edit mode (click the Edit button at the top). The icon stays grey in view or inline comment mode.
• Browser Glitch – If everything seems fine, try another browser or incognito to rule out a cache or extension issue.

If you’ve confirmed permissions and it’s still grey, your admin may need to recheck the space’s attachment settings.

Kind Regards
Utkarsh
