I want to create a table which can perform basic addition and subtraction?
Is it possible on Confluence without any scripting?
Hi there Welcome to the group! 🥳So far, there is no way to calculate directly within Confluence tables. But there are some add-ons (no scripting), you can get to have such a functionality. I like the Inline Table Editing.
Hi
Look at this article, it's old but it still gives you clues

Hi @santosh.srirangam ,
We can suggest trying the app that we develop - Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence.
You'll be able to show totals and perform other basic calculations using the Table Filter macro. Subtraction, multiplication, and so on can be done with the help of the Table Transformer macro.
These macros work with native Confluence tables.
But if you prefer Excel-style cell formulas, use the Table Spreadsheet macro and bring the spreadsheet functionality right to your Confluence pages.
If you are not familiar with the app, please book a live demo with the team - we'll discuss your use cases and give some hints.
Hello Santosh,
Unfortunately, there is currently no built-in functionality to perform any calculations in a Confluence table. You can use Inline Table Editing app, where you can find more than 200 formulas next to basic calculations.I am the Product Owner of this app, and I would be happy to help you. If you have any questions, you can book a demo here.
Best,Zhenya
Hi @santosh.srirangam before I suggest the best approach could you let me know
For example, say your Column A has a list of numbers and you want to multiply each by 3. Would it be more useful to type something like = A * 3 in the column header and have every row calculate that automatically, or would you prefer entering a formula in each cell (e.g. =A1*3, =A2*3, etc.)?

Hi Santosh,
Native Confluence tables cannot add or subtract on their own.
You need an app, or you calculate offline and paste the results.
If you want to keep a normal Confluence table and use Excel-style formulas like SUM, one option is Qron Calc Macro:https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217478/qron-calc-macro-excel-formula-in-table
Hi, I'm with CelesteCS - we make Math for Confluence Cloud, which does exactly this without any scripting. The Numerical Expression Cloud macro lets you write a live formula anywhere on the page, referencing table cells directly - a column sum is SUM(Table1.B2:B10), subtracting two cells is Table1.B2-Table1.C2. The formula recalculates automatically every time the page is viewed. Quick start: https://celestecs.com/support/documentation/math/how-to-start
As many folks have pointed out Confluence tables don't perform any functions/math. You can, however, easily embed a google sheet or excel doc though, this would display whatever the underlying file/etc. has.
I'm curious to your use case? Having more info about why you're interested in this would help folks figure out possible solutions.
