Learn by doing: set up a free Jira Cloud site just for practice. You can do that from here: https://www.atlassian.com/try/cloud/signup?bundle=jira-software&edition=free
Understand issue hierarchy: get clear on the structure: Epic → Story/Task → Sub-task. Misusing these is a common beginner mistake!
Use filters and JQL early on: start small, then learn to sort, filter, and save views with JQL (Jira Query Language).
Get to know workflows: don’t just click through statuses - understand how each status and transition is set up in your project workflow.
Don’t overcomplicate fields: many new users create too many custom fields. Try using built-in ones where possible to keep things clean.
Explore Automation rules: Jira's built-in automation is super powerful and beginner-friendly, try setting a couple of rules.
