How to enable the board in team managed software project?

I am working in a team managed software project.

I am the project owner and have full admin rights.

When I look at settings - features, I see 'Board' is ticked but greyed out.

This would explain my problem: can't configure anything on the board (I want to add columns and assign some new workflow statuses).

Grateful for any hints on how to proceed.

To configure the board, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to your team-managed Jira project.
2. Locate the board in the project's sidebar.
3. Click on the board.
4. In the top-right corner, select "More actions" (···), then "Configure board."
