JSM workflow/automation feasibility

Question

I’d like to know if it’s possible to implement a workflow like the one in the attached diagram:

* QA Validation & Sign-Off gate

* If QA rejects, they can choose either Major (Rollback) or Minor (Hotfix Remediation)

* If Minor is selected, the ticket loops back to Monitoring & Review and then back through QA again

* This cycle continues until QA either approves or rejects with Major, which ends the workflow

If you can’t model this exact loop natively in JSM, what workarounds or apps would let us approximate it?

Hi @Prajith Parammal - and welcome to the Community!

A Jira workflow is essentially a collection of statuses and transitions between them that you can literally draw as in your diagram. So yes, this is perfectly possible.

Since you want to add gates it would be best to do this in a company managed project, since it allows you to add conditions, transition screen, validators and post functions to handle all the checks and balances properly.
