JQL Ignoring certain characters in its searches??

Does anyone know why in a JQL search Jira complexly ignores underscores "_" Their was a ticket that was missing in a search today "project in CAP and Summary ~1718" and it ignored a ticket that had CR 1718_" in it. When he added the underscore in the query, it still ignored it. We fixed it in the summary of the ticket itself, and it picked it up fine. 

We were just curious if Jira has reserved special characters that will be ignored in searches if used (besides underscores). We should avoid using them in labels, summaries, etc.

Hi @steve_josue I did a quick search on Atlassian's Jira Site and found JRACLOUD-83886 which closely resembles your issue.  I would suggest voting for and watching it for updates.

There are several very similar issues out there, so I'd suggest searching and voting for the others as well.  

Here's my search criteria: "text ~ JQL and text ~ search and text ~ "character" and status != closed and project in ("Jira Cloud", "Jira Platform Cloud", "Jira Service Management Cloud")"
