One of the pages I have created opens in edit mode and I do not know how to correct this. It opens in edit mode for people who do not have editing privileges as well, they are not able to make edits. How to I correct this?

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
It sounds like the page you created was created as a live doc, meaning that it will always open up in edit mode, similar to a word doc. Live doc is currently a beta feature and you can always convert it back to be a regular page by clicking on the three-dot-menu up in the right-hand corner and click Convert to page.
