An alternative of user macro

Question

The confluence data centre consists of 5 user macros i.e pageversion, my_task_report, header macro, vertical_header_text, sibling_tab can you suggest is there any possible built in alternative in the confluence cloud or is there any free plugin that can be used which provide the above functionality in the confluence cloud

HI @umashri

Can you provide more details, like screenshots etc, but based on my assumption:

Confluence Cloud still has the same task report macro as DC.

Header and Footer are not macro's but an option in the Confluence administration, this is still also available in Cloud

Vertical header text is not on ootb option in both Cloud or DC, in DC this could be done by adding a user macro in Confluence administration, there is no option for this in Cloud.

Look on the marketplace, for options, but I don't think there are free options.

Sibling tab is also a 3rd party app that only exists on DC., you would need to find an alternative for Cloud on the marketplace, but free option won't be available.

While Confluence Cloud and Data Center versions have some differences in functionality, I can provide information on alternatives or similar features for the macros you mentioned:

Pageversion:

Confluence Cloud doesn't have a built-in page version macro.

Alternative: Use the page history feature to view and compare different versions of a page.

My_task_report:

Confluence Cloud has built-in task management features.

Use the "Task Report" macro to display tasks from across your Confluence instance.

Header macro:

Confluence Cloud has built-in header formatting options.

Use the "+" menu to add headers of different levels (H1, H2, H3, etc.).

Vertical_header_text:

There's no built-in vertical text feature in Confluence Cloud.

Alternative: You might need to use custom CSS or HTML to achieve this effect.

Sibling_tab:

Confluence Cloud doesn't have a direct equivalent.

Alternative: Use the "Children Display" macro to show related pages in a hierarchical structure.

For additional functionality, you can explore the Atlassian Marketplace for free /chargeable plugins that might provide similar features. Some options to consider full disclosure I do work for Kolekti! : Tabs for confluence or for a  macro suite Mosaic who have an interactive Banner which can work as a header or the Background macro. Happy to help if you want to explore option in our apps
