I would like a Structure formula column that indicates the date a specific field was last updated

Hopefully there are some Tempo Structure gurus here that can help me.

I have a custom field that is simply another labels field to separate it out from the generic Jira labels field. What is the formula to display the date that this custom field was last modified?

Please note - it IS possible to access history in Structure in the way that you need. If you want to see when a particular field was updated last, you can use a formula like this:

fieldnamehistory.time.last()

where fieldname should match the name of the field in question(without any spaces). Also, the fieldname variable should have the 'Use an array of historical data instead of the current value' option enabled for it. You can do it by clicking on the variable underneath the formula.

the format of the column should be changed from general to Date/Time for the timestamps to appear as dates.

In Jira Structure, to display the last updated date of a specific custom field using a formula column, unfortunately, Structure formulas currently don’t support field-level change history (like last updated date of a specific custom field). They only access current field values.However, here are a couple of workarounds:1.⁠ ⁠Automation Rule: You can create a Jira Automation rule that updates a hidden custom date field whenever your target custom field is changed. Then, show that hidden date field in your Structure.2.⁠ ⁠Structure Extension Apps: If you are using Tempo or ALM Works Structure extensions with more advanced features, check if they offer field change tracking support. Some advanced setups may allow accessing historical changes.
