Disabling 'you do not have permission to edit this' message

Amy Streets

Hi,

How do i disable the 'you do not have permission to edit this page' pop up message for people with read only access to a specific page, without giving them full access to the entire page?

Thanks

Hi and Welcome

To disable the "You do not have permission to edit this page" pop-up message for users with read-only access in a system like Confluence (often used alongside Jira), you typically have limited options, as this message is a built-in feature designed to inform users of their permissions. However, here is a few approaches you can consider:

• Create a Custom User Group: Instead of giving users read-only access, create a custom user group with specific permissions that allow them to view the page without the pop-up. This may involve adjusting the permissions for that specific page or space.
• Page Restrictions: Set page restrictions to allow certain users to view the page without edit permissions. This way, they can access the content without seeing the pop-up.

Depends on your usecase ive this work.
