A project access for created tickets only

Hi,

I would like to permit users which has no access to my project, but yet creating tickets under my project, to access their own created tickets (only) under my project.

Means, they won't be able to access any of my project tickets, besides their own ones.

Is it applicable?

This is possible using Issue Security Schemes:

1. Go to Jira Settings → Issues.
2. Select Issue Security Schemes under the Security section.
3. Click Add Issue Security Scheme.
4. Name your scheme (e.g., Restricted Access Scheme) and add a description.
5. After creating the scheme, click Add Security Level.
6. Add the following groups/roles:
   • Reporter — Ensures the ticket creator can access their own ticket.
   • Project Admins/Relevant Roles — So you and your team can still manage tickets.
7. Assign the Scheme to Your Project
8. Apply the Security Level to New Tickets using Automation Rules

• Create a new rule:
  • • Trigger: Issue Created.
    • Action: Set Issue Security Level → Set it to Reporter Only.
